However, the Malaysian international Chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail popularly known as Chef Wan seemed to be a bit disappointed with the result of the poll after Malaysia was placed on the sixth spot with 265 votes. Malaysia whose cuisine’s influences include Chinese, Indian and Malay.
According to Chef Wan via news portal Astro Awani, Malaysia should be on the top rank and the Philippines should be placed on the bottom part of the list. "My top five choices in terms of variety should be: number one Malaysia, followed by Italy, Thailand, Japan and India”.
Chef Wan also said “I see food as varieties and flavours that reflect the culture and food, and that is why Malaysia should be the first world’s best food destination.”
“Philippines is known to have the worst food in Asia, ask any chefs and they will tell you I am right" said by Chef Wan.
Tourist and most foreigner loves Filipino foods, so netizens questioned him whether he knows what he was claiming.
