PROUD PINOY: Gold Medal Performance of Daniel Parantac in SEA GAMES 2015 For Wushu Men's Optional Taiji Sword

SINGAPORE -- Filipino Wushu artist Daniel Parantac won the gold medal after narrowly edging his opponents in the men’s Taijijian event of the Wushu competitions at the Expo Hall 2 on Sunday increasing the Philippines on 28th Southeast Asian Games 2015 gold haul to three.



The Incheon Asian Games silver medalist duplicated his gold medal finish in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, in addition to a Silver Medal as part of the men’s team in the duel weapons event alongside Norlence Catolico and John Keithley Chan.

Parantac won over the judges with a dynamic and flawless display to garner 9.71 points, ahead of Malaysia’s Jack Chang Lang Loh and Julius Kurniawan of Indonesia. The Malaysian took home the silver with a score of 9.69 while the Indonesia wound up with a 9.68 score and the bronze.

As of 10:00 p.m., the Philippines ranks 7th overall which had garnered a total of 6 golds, 8 silvers and 15 bronzes  with total of 29 medals.
